I personally prefer size #3.5 willow blades in gold, silver/blue, and chartreuse, but I have a bunch of other assorted colors and styles as well. I guess I'm asking if there is a standard, go to blade size/color to search and explore with. Indiana? Colorado? Color of blade? Size of blade? I appreciate the information and look forward to reading your thoughts. So, this lake is very clear with good vegetation. I vaguely remember the types: Indiana, Colorado and willow and now I see they have smile and sickle. So, I'm gonna devote a few hours to this with the target fish walleye. While passing over deeper water, I saw many suspended fish and thought it would be fun to try targeting these with in line weight or snap weight. I have a little more focus these days and fished a lake yesterday with a very erratic bottom depth and contour and found it difficult to keep consistent bottom contact with bottom bouncers. Over the years, I have accumulated many blades that were "pretty" to the eye but have never seen the water. In my youth, I used to tie crawler harnesses and would use a quick change clevis to attach the blade. ![]()
